Everything you need to know about Range Picker™ and how it can transform your driving range operations.
Product
What is Range Picker™?
Range Picker™ is a fully autonomous, battery-powered robot that collects golf balls on driving ranges. It navigates using GPS, operates without human intervention, and returns to its charging station automatically.
How many balls can it collect per day?
Range Picker™ can collect up to 60,000 golf balls daily, depending on range size and configuration.
How does it navigate the range?
Range Picker™ uses GPS RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) technology to navigate with centimetre-level precision. A base station installed at your facility sends real-time corrections to the robot, allowing it to follow pre-mapped collection routes accurately — no physical markers, wires, or beacons needed.
Can golfers keep hitting while the robot is on the range?
Yes. Range Picker™ is designed to operate safely alongside golfers. Its lightweight build and low profile allow it to collect balls without disrupting practice sessions.
Operation
How long does the battery last?
Range Picker™ runs for approximately 8 hours on a single charge. It automatically returns to its charging station when the battery is low.
Does it work in rain or wet conditions?
Yes. The lightweight design of Range Picker™ enables it to operate in wet and soggy conditions where heavier equipment would damage the turf or get stuck.
What happens when the collection trailer is full?
The robot automatically drives to a designated drop-off point and dumps the balls into a cleaning and transport system, then resumes collection — all without manual intervention.
Can I monitor and control it remotely?
Yes. The Relox mobile app lets you monitor the robot's status, adjust collection zones, and manage operations from anywhere.
Setup & Maintenance
How long does installation take?
A typical installation takes one to two days, including GPS mapping of your range, route configuration, and staff training.
Does it require any infrastructure changes to the range?
No. Range Picker™ uses GPS and digital mapping, so there is no need for buried wires, physical markers, or modifications to your range layout.
What maintenance does it need?
Range Picker™ is designed for minimal maintenance. Routine checks include cleaning sensors and collection components, and ensuring the charging station is functioning properly. Our support team is available for any technical needs.
Technology & Site Planning
What is GPS RTK and why does Range Picker™ use it?
GPS RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) is a satellite positioning technology that delivers centimetre-level accuracy. A base station at your facility sends real-time corrections to the robot, allowing it to follow precise collection routes without any physical guides on the range.
Read more about precision GPSDoes the range need a clear view of the sky?
Yes. GPS RTK relies on satellite signals, so the robot performs best on open ranges with good sky visibility. Areas close to tall buildings, dense tree lines, or covered structures can reduce signal quality and positioning accuracy.
Where should the base station be placed?
The base station needs a fixed position with a clear, unobstructed view of the sky. It should be mounted away from tall structures and tree canopy. During installation, our team identifies the optimal location for your specific range layout.
Where should the charging station and drop-off point go?
Both should be placed in areas with good sky visibility and easy access for the robot. Avoid positioning them directly next to tall buildings or under roof overhangs. Our team helps determine the best placement during site setup, balancing GPS coverage with your operational workflow.
Can it operate near trees or buildings at the edge of the range?
Range Picker™ works well on the open areas of a range. Near the edges, tall structures or dense tree cover may reduce GPS accuracy. During installation, our team maps your range and configures collection zones to account for any obstructed areas.
